In a certain prison cell in Japan, Masumi Hayashi, a 60-year-old woman, awaits the dreaded footsteps of the prison guard every morning at 8 am.
For her, the cessation of those footsteps means her execution day has arrived. She was convicted for her alleged involvement in the infamous "Wakayama Curry Poisoning Mass Murder Incident," which occurred in 1998 mass poisoning during a community festival in Wakayama, Japan, resulting in multiple
deaths and injuries from arsenic-laced curry, Masumi maintains her innocence despite being condemned to death by the Supreme Court in 2009.
Daughter of Fuji (In production)
Daughter of Fuji is a character-led documentary about Keiko, a Japanese woman in her fifties who teaches pubescent virgins the sacred dance to calm Mount Fuji.
When Keiko questions this patriarchal tradition and faces the threat of an erupting volcano, she must choose between resigning or reinventing the tradition. The film prompts reflection on women's struggle against traditional
gender roles.

My pregnant wife and I, originally from Incheon, South Korea, moved to Oki Island, the closest island to the area of disputed sovereignty between Japan and South Korea. we interact with the local people and have family-like relationships with our neighbors. However, even on Oki Island, where time flows slowly, traces of the sovereignty dispute can be found everywhere.
