The Full Story

Daisuke Muramoto (39) has been in the​ ​​entertainment industry for 20 years. In 2013,​ ​ he became the champion in one of the most prestigious comedy contests in Japan, rising to the top from a field of 1855 contestants. At​ ​​the time he was flooded with offers, appearing on TV almost every day. However,​ ​because he repeatedly criticized politicians and made​ ​​remarks about nuclear power plants and minority groups that are ostracized from society - topics that are regarded as taboos in the Japanese entertainment industry - in 7​ ​years, Daisuke’s appearance on TV has plummeted to zero.

Fumiari Hyuga joined the production company Documentary Japan’ in 2006. He has directed various TV programs such as Should young people shoot guns? (15) the short documentary for NHK about the conscription for army service
and patriotism of youth in the Ukraine Civil war. The story about Syrian refugees living in Japan, Syrians next door(16) Another TV documentary for NHK The fact of African American protest demonstration (14) a story about African American protest demonstration against the police in New York.

His short film (TOKYO KURDS(17) has been selected for numerous Films Festivals including HOT DOCS Films Festival(18), DMZ Documentary Festival(19),  Kassel Documentary Festival (19), and so on. Also won the Excellence
Award in TokyoDocs Short Documentary showcase received the most accomplished award for TV Journalism, Galaxy Awards(18). Fumiari
continued to follow the subject TOKYO KURDS(21) successfully became a Feature film, opening in theaters nationwide, As well as will screen in numerous film festivals such as JEONJU IFF 2022 International Competition,
Taiwan International Documentary Festival 2022 Asian Competition. I am a Comedian (The Misfit Comedian) chosen at DMZ Documentary Festival`s industry rough-cut presentation, Cannes Doc Doc in Progress. Also World Premier at DMZ Documentary Festival. and TOKYO INTERNATIONAL FILM
